About Terra Confluence 2024

Vision and Goals

At Terra Confluence 2024, we dream of a world where every decision reverberates with the principles of environmental sustainability.

Terra is a Latin word that means Earth, symbolizing our planet and its environment. Confluence refers to the act of merging or coming together. Together, Terra Confluence signifies the merging of ideas, people, and innovations aimed at benefiting our Earth.

Terra Confluence 2024: A New Beginning

Terra Confluence 2024 is the inaugural event of what we envision as an ongoing annual series. This pioneering gathering unites experts, enthusiasts, and community members to foster dialogue and inspire action towards climate and environmental sustainability. Our goal is to make this an annual platform for sharing innovative solutions and sparking transformative change in our approach to preserving the planet.

In alignment with our mission, we are dedicated to supporting specific United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) that resonate with our objectives. These goals guide our actions and frame our contributions to global sustainability efforts:

As an initiative of the Global Climate Association (GCA), this event series is designed to bridge the gap between knowledge and proactive action, creating a supportive ecosystem for sustainable climate solutions. Through a blend of engaging dialogue, data-driven challenges, and expansive educational outreach, we aim to inspire and empower individuals and communities to become proactive custodians of our planet.

We are deeply grateful to our esteemed event advisors

Dedicated In the Loving Memory of my Father Somnath Chakravarty (22nd September 1949 - 29th April 2021)

A Father's Legacy: Honoring a Lifelong Commitment to Earth's Stewardship

The founding of the Global Climate Association was deeply influenced by the profound connection to nature my father fostered in me from a young age. His compassionate acts of rescuing injured wildlife—ranging from kites and turtles to dogs and koels—and his dedication to nurturing plants, wildlife photography and painting skills, instilled in me a profound sense of unity with the natural world. His meticulous bird-watching logs, extensive library on flora and fauna, and his involvement with the organization of Salim Ali, India's renowned ornithologist, enriched my knowledge and shaped my career path as an environmental and climate educator and researcher.

The passing of my father on April 29th, 2021, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, profoundly deepened my commitment to his legacy. This pivotal moment strengthened my resolve to guide the next generation towards fostering a deep, loving bond with nature, ecosystems, and our planet's climate. It has become my purpose to continue his work, inspiring others to cherish and protect our environment just as he taught me.

Terra Confluence 2024 an initiative by the Global Climate Association in collaboration with organizations across the world is dedicated to people like my father who with their gestures, action and kindness have created a hopeful world where change is possible even in the face of challenges such as climate change.

Your loving daughter

Poulomi

It transcends verbal communication, allowing individuals to convey reverence for one another and the environment. This harmonious posture symbolizes unity with nature and humanity, reflecting a deep-rooted environmental ethos of balance and gratitude.
